Scyphozoa
- There Are approximately 200 species of Scyphozoan that exist.
- Scyphozoan have a radial body symmetry, their wall consisting of an outer epidermis.
- They have nematocysts which are characteristics of their phylum.
- Scyphozoans are gonohoric- fertilized eggs may be brooded for a time, then formed into free swimming Scyphozoans.
- Through their whole life, 99% of it is lived in the Medusa stage, therefore it only lives in the Medusa stage.
- They live in all Oceans but tend to be most often found where warm and cold waters meet, and near the equator.
